Sox add second year to Varitek offer
MLB.com reports today that the Red Sox have reportedly added a second year (either a guarantee, or via an option) to the offer they have made to catcher Jason Varitek. In my previous article on Varitek, I knew they wouldn’t let him wade out in the water too long. Hopefully, forward progress continues.
Unemployment hits 7.2%; Scott Boras might be at fault
It is being reported that unemployment has sky rocketed to a 16 year high and is now at 7.2%. The loss in total jobs for 2008 was the largest since 1945 and the net job loss for 2008 was 2.6 million.
