It’s a project estimated at $4.9 billion with an anticipated opening of 2012. Of course it has detractors who have delayed this groundbreaking by filing lawsuits filed fighting the use of eminent domain.
Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Patterson are on board. In fact, Paterson says the project will create 16,000 construction jobs and 5,500 permanent jobs.
