Obsessed With Sports (OWS) is a blog, focusing on sports news and commentary. Since sports is a universal language, the sports theme can be blended into other topics as well. Or so we think. Still, it’s really about the sports.

The website has been online since 2008. Back then, we first branded the site as “For obsessed fans, by obsessed fans.” Since launching OWS has garnered multiple mentions on such popular websites as Deadspin, The Big Lead, and SI.com as well as many other reputable online sports publications. More reputable than us, at least. Additionally, we have been mentioned on ESPN’s SportsCenter. Yes, the WorldWide Leader.

Sounds sexy, yeah? Even better; OWS joined the Fox Sports network, via YardBarker, in the summer of 2010.

Despite a great deal of success — as many companies do — OWS was becoming stale. In the summer of 2012, OWS re-branded. No more generic banner ads. Ads aren’t cool. In replace of corporate ads, more curse words were promptly added to the sites repertoire. Swear words are cool. You know what’s cool? A billion curse words. Also, if ‘the’ was in the URL, it would have been dropped. This I assure you.
