NFL Win Total Over/Unders: Atlanta Falcons

Every season RDM obsesses on the NFL team win total over/unders. It’s one of the more fun bets in all of sports. A single well-placed bet turns an otherwise random team into a must see weekly event. Today we look at the 2012 Atlanta Falcons.

The number: 8.5

Since Matt Ryan left Chestnut Hill in 2008, Boston College has sucked. In 2007 and 2008 the Eagles actually won the ACC Atlantic Division. A small, private school in the suburbs of Boston went to the ACC title game two years in a row. That was thanks to Matt Ryan.

Living in the era, I had to listen to BC fans talk like their school is in the same conversation as Florida State or Miami. A phrase that I’ve heard is something along the lines of; “Why can’t we be Stanford/Harvard Monday through Friday and FSU on Saturday.” That is some top level douche baggery.

Since entering the NFL, Ryan has been good. Not great, but good. In fact, with Ryan under center the Falcons have won 9+ games each the last three seasons.

Since Ryan left Boston College, the Eagles have not won 9 games in any season.

The pick: Falcons over 8.5 wins, Boston College Eagles under 8.5 wins
