NFL Win Total Over/Unders: Kansas City Chiefs

Every season RDM obsesses on the NFL team win total over/unders. It’s one of the more fun bets in all of sports. A single well-placed bet turns an otherwise random team into a must see weekly event. Today we look at the 2012 Kansas City Chiefs.

The number: 7.5

Last year’s Chiefs won 7 games in a terrible division. That’s not the incredible part, though. The truly tremendous achievement is that KC was able to win those 7 games with an offense that ranked 31st in the league.

Unfortunately, 2011 was played — largely — without Jamaal Charles. The dynamic running back hopes to return to making an impact on the field in 2012. Peyton Hillis will also hope to return to productivity this season. With Dwayne Bowe now signed, maybe the Chiefs are heading in the right direction. This was, after all, a 10 win team two years ago.

Someone has to reach double digits in the AFC West, right? Someone. Bueller… Bueller… Kansas City, please step up.

If Kansas City can stay healthy, and the defense remains solid, this team has a shot at surprising some people. The offense CANNOT be as terrible as last season. They must regress back to the mean.

The pick: over 7.5 wins
