RDM welcomes you to the weekend. Can’t stop. Won’t stop. It’s WTTW!
As we head into this weekend, I want to ask a question. It’s a question that I must ask myself, really. Will football be the revival of OWS?
Posts have been few and far between of late. That’s because the summer is a whole other animal. No one wants to be inside writing on a computer screen. Or at least I don’t. Moreover, there isn’t jack going on, generally. No NFL (until now), no college football, no college hoops, no nothing.
Football might just breathe new life into my passion for writing on here. Football just seems to crank out big time stories. How about an example. Today LSU gave Tyrann Mathieu the boot.

No more Honey Badger for Brent Musburger to fawn over. I mean, that’s some big time stuff. LSU is the preseason #1 team.
Speculation is obviously going to be that Mathieu tested positive for a drug, again. The story here for me is how much money he just cost himself. A great senior year and Mathieu would have been a lock for a 1st round selection in the spring. Now, who knows.

Dwight Howard To The Lakers… Finally…

Never have I cared less about something that mattered so much. This is a huge trade. But I just don’t care to listen to traditional analysis of it. If you think the Lakers are insufferable, that ain’t nothing compared to Mr. Howard.
I just checked his twitter page. He hasn’t updated since April 20th! Wow. Shame on him. I thought he was the NBA social media king.
Actually, twitter actually added to why I hate Howard.
Howard’s account wasn’t always @DwightHoward. Twitter makes it easy to change your twitter name. You simply go to your settings and change away. When Dwight got control of the @DwightHoward handle, instead of just changing settings on his current account, an entire new account was created. No! Dwight, and the entourage around him, couldn’t figure out how to convert Howard’s old twitter account to @DwightHoward. Unreal.
First Howard gives up hundreds of thousands of followers. Now he doesn’t even use his account. Some social media mogul you are, Dwight.

UFC 150 Picks…
Ben Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar
Pick: Edgar +170
I do like Benson. Don’t get me wrong. But those are tremendous odds for the former champion. I think this fight is closer to a coin flip than the odds currently constitute. It’s a rematch, and Frankie should come out strong. He is capable of winning, and needs to have a better gameplan this time around.
Donald Cerrone vs. Melvin Guillard
Pick: Cerrone -310
The Cowboy is too large a favorite to actually bet on. However, it’s the perfect opportunity to use Cerrone in a parlay.
Jake Shields vs. Ed Herman
Pick: Shields -200
I want to pick Herman, but can’t pull the trigger. This is a must win for Shields. Literally, could he get cut with a bad loss? Maybe. It’s like a guy in his contract year — Shields finds a way. He’s got to.
Yushin Okami vs. Buddy Roberts
Pick: Okami -600
And I thought Cerrone was a big favorite. That number might even take Okami out of the running for parlay usage.

Pre-season football and the Olympics are the same thing. You think it’s going to be so fun to watch, then you can’t make it through 15 minutes of either. At least UFC 150 the PGA Championship save the weekend.
