Welcome To The Weekend!

Every Friday RDM welcomes you to the weekend with a weekly rap-up post. View the “Welcome To The Weekend” post archive here.

I have a huge amount of respect for Mariano Rivera. Who doesn’t? Still, this photo is tragically funny. Just look at it.

OK — I got that out of my system.

With that being said, I sure hope this isn’t the way Rivera goes out. But a 42-year-old with a torn-up knee doesn’t sounds like a likely comeback story. Of course, Mariano has really beaten his own path from day one, so you never know with him.

One fan’s love drove him to sponsor Rivera’s BB-Ref page. He (I assume it’s a he) wrote:

This had to cost several hundreds of dollars, if not closer to 4 figures. For example, Raul Ibanez’s page is going for over $500 right now.

I fail to see the point of this fan’s sponsored page. The only way it makes sense is if it was Any Pettitte himself, which I guess is a possibility.

Bounty-gate 2012 Trailer…

That video is great because it walks the line of being negative or positive towards the franchise. Literally, without digging deeper, it’s hard to initially tell whether the uploader is a Saints fan or not.

Hypnotize’d Like B.I.G…

A woman has told Boston police that she was approached by three scam artists in Chinatown last month and hypnotized without her permission before giving them all her valuables, including jewelry and $160,000 in cash.

The victim, who only spoke Cantonese, told police on April 16 that she was approached by three Asian women between 30 and 40 years old, and one of the suspects talked to her in Cantonese for about five minutes, asking random questions about the victim’s family members.

“The victim stated to officers she believes during the conversation she was hypnotized,” police said, issuing a community alert. “The victim further stated that she did not agree to be hypnotized by the suspect.”

The victim then went home with a plastic bag that was given her by one of the suspects and and placed all her valuables in it. She handed the bag to the three suspects in the area of Boston Common near Province Street, police said.

If this is real, we need to watch out. This is some super hero shit. Imagine if you had the power to hypnotize people — you could do whatever you damn well please. Money, cash, hoes. Money, cash, hypnotized.
