Two huge heavyweight bouts headline UFC 119 in Indy. Not since Rik Smits has Indianapolis seen big boys like this. Sure tons of sites do UFC fight picks. I’ll go out on the limb and say this is the only post that will lead with a picture of Rik Smits.
Picks for the main card after the jump.
Frank Mir vs. Mirko Cro Cop
Cro Cop apparently suffered a bad eye poke in his last sparring session this week. So, besides the fact that he might have one eye going into the octagon on Saturday, Cro Cop is 36 years old.
Mir also wants this. He wants this because, at least in his mind, he wants another shot at Lesnar.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Ryan Bader
I like Bader, but I don’t think he has been tested yet. Sure he ended up beating up on Keith Jardine, but that doesn’t convince me yet.
I’ve been a bit surprised seeing writers pick Bader here.
Matt Serra vs. Chris Lytle
Serra and Lytle actually already fought during the TUF 4 Finale. Serra won. I think Lytle is now the one that is a bit on the rise. Serra getting a victory over Frank Trigg was alright, but that doesn’t convince me that he is the old Matt Serra.
Sean Sherk vs. Evan Dunham
I want to pick Dunham. And, I was just about to write that I want to pick the underdog. However, he is actually not at all pegged as an underdog by Vegas. Man those guys are good! He is actually over a 2:1 favorite. I think that is a bit much.
After seeing that line, I am swinging back the complete opposite way.
Melvin Guillard vs. Jeremy Stephens
Every single time I think Guillard is going to put together a streak of wins, he goes and loses. This one is easy.
