It didn’t take long for the spectacular Dez Bryant to wipe the smile of Cowboy’s fans faces.
Bryant has taken an unconventional route to start his NFL career. He missed most of his Junior year due to a massive NCAA investigation. Then, he became the first 1st rounder to sign. Now, he doesn’t feel the need to work his way up the ranks. This weekend he refused to carry Roy Williams’ pads after practice.
“I’m not doing it. I feel like I was drafted to play football, not carry another player’s pads.”
“If I was a free agent, it would still be the same thing. I just feel like I’m here to play football. I’m here to try to help win a championship, not carry someone’s pads. I’m saying that out of no disrespect to (anyone).”
This really gets to me for some reason. I am a huge fan of some of the more “out there” receivers. My favorite is likely Chad Ochocinco and he is no saint. For some reason I feel like this is potentially as bad or worse than anything we have seen these headcase wideouts do in the past.
This is very detrimental to the team as a whole.
That said, I wouldn’t want to carry Roy Williams pads either. Dez Bryant has probably already done more for the Cowboys than Williams has in his season and a half.
…just when things were looking so peachy in big D.
