Chad Ochocinco’s Foray Into Mainstream Media Continues

Whether it is his own personal iPhone app from Rock Software, his appearance on Dancing with the Stars, or just his massively popular twitter page; it seems that Chad Ochocinco has been everywhere in the past year or so.

Now Chad is making his way into late night stoner TV. He has a guest spot playing himself on the Adult Swim show Squidbillies.

The episode is titled “Lean Green Touchdown Makifying Machine”, and airs July 11 at midnight.

This might have to be one of the best cases of marketing yourself. It has been a nonstop onslaught, guerrilla campaign of Ochocinco-ness. It started with the insane name change from Chad Johnson to Chad Ochocinco.

Everyone thought he must be a nutcase, and well, he might not have all the screws there. However, if Chad wasn’t a football player he might have become a Chief Marketing Officer at a major company. From hoping on the twitter-thing early to forcing his way onto Dancing with the Stars, Ochocinco has been an innovator in the area of athlete marketing.

Next up on the agenda…

Yup, another VH1 reality show. The show is apparently called Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch.

Although he is obviously not the sole person behind this PR barrage, he has had the foresight to at least agree to these gigs, if not make some decisions on his own.

I am having a hard time even imaging what is next for Ocho. Maybe Ochocinco ankle monitors to keep tabs on his troublesome teammates?
