That is the report coming from TMZ. Cromartie is being investigated for assault with a deadly weapon over an incident in a San Diego bar last night, TMZ reports. Although, as I allude to in the title, there is no solid factual news here yet but the reports are actually quite awesome.
Witnesses claim there was champagne being sprayed back and forth between Cromartie’s party and another group at the bar. Tempers flared and someone threw a bottle. Cromarties agent says, “This is absolutely not a story. Antonio didn’t throw the bottle” in his statement to TMZ. The bottle throw is apparently true. I read anothe report that says Cromartie claims that “it slipped from his hand.”
Chargers’ left tackle Marcus McNeill know’s Cromartie didn’t do anything because as he says, “Honestly, if you hit somebody over the head with a bottle, you’re going to jail.”
I didn’t know McNeill was pre-law at Auburn. Watch the rest of McNeill’s conference from Monday (3:50 mark).
We will see what comes out this morning.
