I have a new show of the moment. This show is brilliant.
The premise is based around a fantasy football league and the shenanigans surrounding said league. FX says The League is about “friendship, marriage, parenting, and growing up…or refusing to grow up” and as I mentioned is set against the backdrop of a fantasy football league.
First, this thing is pretty damn raunchy. I was surprised some of this stuff could make it on the air at FX (I should note, I don’t watch Sons of Anarchy, etc).
Thus far, the show has a great balance of football related jokes and just ass-backwards random humor. I know this show is good is because the best parts are often those that have nothing to do with football. For a sports fan, the fact that a number of the shows jokes are centered around NFL-related jokes doesn’t hurt either.
This thing has my backing at this point. You can catch up with the first 3 episodes on FXnetworks.com. A new episode airs tomorrow night at 10:30 after Always Sunny. Just saying if you haven’t checked it out it might be worth a look.
