Laffin’s NFL Survivior/Suicide Pool Picks: Week 8

survivor_logoAlright everyone, it is that time of the week again.  Time to get those picks for week 8 in.  There are some good match ups this week, undefeated Denver against Baltimore, Favre’s return to Lambeau in the Vikings/Packers match up, and the battle for bottom of the league ensues when Detroit plays St. Louis.  Now none of those match ups are ones I would touch for a survivor league, they are all too close, but if I had to pick ‘em, I’d say Denver (I have to, I’m a fan), Detroit, and Minnesota. But those are not the picks I am suggesting this week.  So now, here’s the recap and this week’s pick:

Week 1: Seattle Seahawks over the Saint Louis Rams.  Seattle 28, Saint Louis 0.

Week 2: Washington Redskins over the Saint Louis Rams. Washington 9, Saint Louis 7.

Week 3: Philadelphia Eagles over the Kansas City Chiefs. Philadelphia 34, Kansas City 14.

Week 4: Chicago Bears over the Detroit Lions. Chicago 48, Detroit 24.

Week 5: Dallas Cowboys over the Kansas City Chiefs. Dallas 26, Kansas City 20.

Week 6: Pittsburgh Steelers over the Cleveland Browns.  Pittsburgh 27, Cleveland 14.

Week 7:  San Diego Chargers over the Kansas City Chiefs. San Diego 37, Kansas City 7.

Week 8: Houston Texans over the Buffalo Bills.  (Score TBD)

This week I am taking Houston over Buffalo for a couple reasons.  Schaub has been having a hell of a season, TO hasn’t done $#@%, and Buffalo just hasn’t been doing well in general.  Now I know the game is in Buffalo, so weather could be a huge factor, but I think even if comes down to the run game, Slaton is more explosive than Lynch (imho).

Also, in the betting game this week I am only taking Houston (-3) against Buffalo.  I really didn’t like any of the other lines, except NY Giants (-1) against the Eagles, but the Giants haven’t covered their last 2 games, and the Eagles always play them tough.
