Series Tied as ARod proves Ms. October

Not a bad pitching match up tonight, I would have liked to see Pedro in the post-game conference, tell all of the “Yankee Universe,” (which is bull by the way, the Steinbrenners need to come up with original ideas). Anyways, I would have like for Pedro to give New York, an “I’m your daddy!” quote again, But, instead New York pummeled him with boos as he left the field, and just before he hit the dugout, gave a smile to the crowd.

I think the highlight of this mediocre game was the fact that Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and John Legend all performed. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys sang “Empire State of Mind,” and John Legend rocked the National Anthem. (Best rendition I’ve heard in a long time).

Back to the game. ARod can be blamed for the sole Philly run tonight, unscored error. He is 0-8 on the series with 6 K’s, yet again proving he isn’t clutch in big series (notice, series not games). Again, the game tonight came down to pitching, Burnett was able to stay through the 7th and let Rivera come in for the 8th, with no need for middle relief. Pedro was able to get 6, but really should’ve been gone in the 5th. Chan Ho Park did his best but Posada bested him.

Both teams will be fresh coming in on Saturday. The key to Saturday, is for the pitching staffs to keep the ball on the corners. In the colder weather, it’s harder to get the bat speed to get to the inside corner. Tonight’s runs were due to hanging curves, and breaking balls that just hung out in the middle of the plate. Hit the corners, and you’ll win the game.

Series is tied folks, 1-1, and it’ll probably keep going back and forth. By the way, I meant to mention this last night, can someone talk to Chase Utley and tell him to stop using so much damn L.A. Looks! The man’s hair is just nasty.
