It is being reported by multiple source that the Vikings’ Brett Favre’s win over the Packers on Monday night drew a 14.2 overnight rating on ESPN.
ESPN says that the game is expected to finish with a record cable rating when final numbers come in later today.
A record cable rating. Damn. To wrap your mind around this. The Sunday Night game does numbers in this area often, and that is on NBC (broadcast TV).
The game drew a 58.3 rating in Minneapolis, and a 49.7 in Milwaukee respectively.
UPDATE: Darren Rovell is reporting tweeting that the final number is 21.8M and is indeed the most watched cable sports broadcast ever.
