Marlins Taunt Cubs Players With A Billy Goat

cubs-marlins-goat-tasteless

In a hilariously busch minor-league showing, on Friday night the Marlins brought a goat onto the field in front of the Cubs’ dugout between the second and third innings.

Sweet Lou Piniella to  call this act by the Marlins “tasteless”.

He went on to say:

”When we come here they always have some gimmick that basically doesn’t make any sense. I don’t know who dreams up these things. When they come to our place in Chicago, we don’t have fried marlin.”

Well, that’s what the team has to do to attempt to get fans to come out to Dolphin Stadium Joe Robbie Stadium Pro Player Stadium Dolphin Stadium Land Shark Stadium. I had to take a look at the attendance for Fridays game and there were over 25,000. I definitely would have gone under if someone had thrown 25k out there. I likely would have gone under 16k.

So it’s all good. I think Lous was just a little mad at the way things went in South Florida this weekend. That’s what happens when your closer blows a couple games.

  1. [...] Lou doesn’t like all the chatter about the “Billy Goat Curse” keeping his franchise down. And he sure didn’t appreciate the Marlins taunting his team with a goat. [...]
