Back in March the Chiefs acquired Matt Cassel from the New England Patriots for a bag of balls and they even got Mike Vrabel to carry the bag from Foxboro to KC. A sweet deal for new GM Mr. Pioli. Today it looks like the Chiefs finally got the long-term deal done that they and Matt had been seeking.
As of early afternoon, the terms of the deal have not been released. The team is expected to announce the specifics of the deal today. There is a report that claims that the deal includes $36 million guaranteed over six years. PFT is confirming this deal to be legit. That would seem like a fair deal for both parties.
While the Jets and Lions are waiting on their young QB draft picks to develop, the Chiefs expedited the process and got a player that has proven his worth at the NFL level. Another brilliant move from Pioli is completed with Cassel’s signing today.
