This one is straight out of a FOX show “World’s Stupidest Criminals”. Apparently three young men approached Hardonk in LA’s LAX airport. They asked if he had money so they could buy cigarettes. Hardonk, wanting to help, pulled out his wallet to see what he could do. Unfortunately, he had no small bills and told the three men that he could not be of assistance.
That’s when one of the men pulled out a homemade knife and demanded Antoni hand over his wallet.
Hardonk is 6 feet 4 and around 250 pounds. That alone might make this robbery attempt foolish. On top of that, the young men clearly did not know they were dealing with an experienced MMA fighter and UFC vet.
The story goes that Hardonk said, “Are you crazy? I’m not giving you my wallet.” The men threated again and Hardonk told them if they wanted to wall they would have to take it. Needless to say they finally came to there senses and took off.
There is a lesson here; do not, under any circumstances, open your heart or wallet to help out your fellow man. No good deed goes unpunished.
