Henry Brothers To Stay At Kansas, For Now

It has been a wild week thus far in the world of college basketball, especially taking into considerations that it is July 1st.

This past week C.J., Henry and their father were angry about a Kansas City Star article that the Henry family felt portrayed them in a negative fashion. The article in question can be found here on the Kansas City Star’s website.

No story this off-season can hold a candle to that of Lance Stephenson but Xavier Henry is sure trying.

Xavier Henry announced in April that he would attend KU with brother C.J. He had previously signed a national letter of intent at Memphis with Coach Calipari.

So how is it that he thinks he could now get out of his LOI at Kansas?

It’s actually simple. You are not allowed to sign a second letter of intent. and for that reason the commitment to Kansas is still non-binding.

Carl Henry, the father of the star prospects said in a recent interview, “If it wasn’t for his mother saying that ‘I would not go to Kentucky,’ Xavier would have been at Kentucky.’’ Xavier really wanted to play for Coach Cal at Memphis and even wanted to follow him to Kentucky.

For now Kansas it is though; yesterday Xavier Henry sent a text to 610 Sports Radio confirming he would not being changing his mind.  “I’m goin to Kansas and that’s final,” the text read.

Recruiting is getting ridiculously complicated. All this for a player, in Henry, who is likely only going to be in Lawrence for one year.
