Frustration In Chicago For The Cubs

Cubs White Sox Baseball

The last few years have not gone very well for the lovable losers. This years, thus far, has been no different. A Chicago Tribune poll this past week stated that 57% of respondents said the Cubs should move star pitcher Carlos Zambrano.

The also soft spoken Zambrano reacted to the poll yesterday.Zambrano is 4-3 this season with a 3.69 ERA and only won 1 game in June. The Cubs as a whole are 36-38 and sit in 4th place in the NL Central.  They are currently 4.5 games behind the Brewers.

Zambrano retorted yesterday in a clubhouse  interview,  “Fine, trade me to Boston”. He added, “Got the no-trade clause, man.” Carlos originally said he would only go to the White Sox or Red Sox but has since, apparently, changed his mind about the White Sox.

He replaced them with an NL team on the west coast–the Dodgers. When asked why he said,  “Can you see me in Hollywood? Me and Stallone? Rocky VI.”

Man, this guy is a basket case. Buyer beware. This club house is the complete 180 degree turn from the 2004 World Champion Red Sox i nthe sense that they have a bunch of characters but seemingly no leadership and no comradery. With all of these personalities those are some key missing components that are stopping the Cubies in their tracks.
