Lance Stephenson Commits To Cincinnati

*Mar 21 - 00:05*

He is seemingly surrounded by controversy and potential at the same time. Lance Stephenson the all-time leading scorer in NYC high school basketball history has finally decided where he will play next year.

Stephenson committed to the Big East’s Cincinnati Bearcat program Tuesday. It will, if Stephenson has his choice, be a one and done deal. It looked like Kansas, Maryland and St. John’s were front runner as Stephenson had previously taken official visits to the schools prior to doing so at Cincy. In the end Stephenson ended up landing in the laps of the Bearcats program. How could this have happened?

The question is was this Stephenson’s first choice or is there something lurking beyond the headlines here. Lance is one of two defendants in a sexual-assault case that will see the court room on July 15. Stephenson also had the BornReady.tv documentary that it is still unclear whether he was compensated for. If he was he would be ineligible to play NCAA basketball.

I can’t speak on the assault case but beyond that I have been routing for Lance. This kid has tremendous talent and the potential to be something special. His family, along with he, made an entertaining short documentary on BornrReady.tv and I personally look forward to seeing how this whole thing turns out.
