The naming of a new high school that will open in North Miami the fall has been making headlines. The city council wants to name the school after former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, who is a resident of the area. On the other hand, the county’s school naming committee voted to name it after former Miami Heat basketball star Alonzo Mourning.
The new school’s lengthy proposed name is the Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus. That’s a mouthful.
The Miami New Times has pointed out the hilarity that could be the Fightin’ Janet Renos. Imagine what the mascot would look like.
My write-in candidate; Chad Ochocinco, a native to the Miami area. Then again you would have to worry about him changing his name again which is a problem when naming something after him.
No word on where Charles Oakley and Jeff Van Gundy stand on the matter.

The Chad Ochocinco High School letterman jackets could be ordered through Zazzle, though, right?
