Tiger Is Back

84059333AL013_THE_MEMORIAL_Tiger is back for sure and damn it is exciting to watch. I never thought I would say that about golf of all sports.

Sunday Tiger won for the 67th time in his career. Jim Furyk put it into perspective, “It [stinks] finishing second. But he played better. A 7 under on those greens and with the conditions we dealt with, that’s pretty spectacular. I just wish you all would just quit [ticking] him off … so he has to come back and keep proving stuff. I think he answered a lot of questions today.”

I started watching the CBS broadcast because I just knew Tiger was, as Furyk said, going to do something spectacular. I couldn’t care less about watching a PGA Tour event unless Tiger is on the greens. There is definitely something to be said about watching greatness.

Even if you don’t love basketball, watching Michael Jordan was a pleasure. Even if you don’t care for hockey, watching Wayne Gretzky was a must. Even if you don’t often watch football, seeing Barry Sanders break off a run is breath taking. Tiger is that type of athlete. We are truly lucky to be able to watch this guy compete.

Sunday Tiger was exceptional as he birdied the final two holes to complete a one shot victory.

On ya Tiger. Can’t wait for the US Open in a few days.

Surely at least one of these guys can give him a run this time – Nick Watney, Bubba Watson, Angel Cabrera, Robert Allenby, Ross Fisher or “Rocket” Rod Pampling as a real roughie.
