Vince McMahon Has A Message For The Nuggets

vince mcmahon The WWE has said they secured the Pepsi Center last Aug. 15 and have already sold more than 10,000 tickets for the event. The organization said the arena’s officials confirmed the WWE’s reservation and sent a signed contract on April 15, the last night of the NBA regular season.

WWE executives Vince and  Shane McMahon had this to say:

“They tried to be amicable but we’re really at such a loss of words because we were expecting a capacity crowd. Had sold 11,000 as of last week,” he said. “We’ve been on sale since August so everyone knew we were coming. We built everything around it. That’s what we do. We promote and build the event.”

“They would not even talk about making a deal other than paying our expenses basically unless we signed some sort of joint press release,” McMahon said. “You would not believe what these people were attempting to make us do. I guess maybe running over us and throwing us out unceremoniously on our ear was not good enough. They want to trample us.”

Both conference final series game one’s are in the books. They were both outstanding games. That being said, I think a nice Bret Hart-Shawn Michael ladder match could be just as entertaining for the people of Denver.

Seriously, it has to be tough for McMahon and the WWE in a case like this. As far as the Pepsi Center’s priorities, in comparison to the NBA, the WWE is not even on the radar. McMahon has built a billion dollar company but when it comes to mainstream business he is still “only” a wrastlin’ promoter.

The Nuggets ownership are the ones who look like asses in this storyline. The Nuggets are owned by Stanley Kroenke who also owns the arena. You shouldn’t be booking your arena in June if you have any faith at all in your hockey (he also owns the Avalache) or basketball teams.

Something I did not know; Kroenke is married to Ann Walton. Ann is one of the heirs to the Wal-Mart fortune. That, my friend, is a power couple.
