Saturday night is going to be alright for fighting. One of the bigger boxing matches in the past few years will be taking place live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It is to be Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao vs ‘The Golden Boy’ Oscar De La Hoya.
As of several hours ago Pacquiao is sitting at +145. In layman’s terms; he is a relatively big underdog. The +145 means that say you put $100 on Pacquiao–you will get $245 back.

There is good reason for this; De La Hoya is the household name. Pacquiao is moving up a weight class. Heck, when it comes down to it De La Hoya is maybe the single most well known non-heavyweight boxer of all time.
That being said, I am on Pacquiao for the upset.
Both of these guys have shown vulnerabilities over their careers. Although I honestly cannot analyze this fight the way I do UFC fight on here, I feel confident that with the odds being presented that Pacquiao is a good bet. I wouldn’t bet the farm but I plan on placing a wager that will more than pick up the bar tab for the night.
This is what I am thinking: Pac-man needs to get in close while Oscar needs to keep Manny away and utilize his reach. Pac-man is the fastest fighter in the sport so he needs to use that to his advantage and wear De La Hoya down–body shots are key here.
De La Hoya has basically said that he thinks there will be a knockout this Saturday. He thinks he can KO Pacquiao. Just another reasons for Pacquiao to stay in close, work the body and not allow De La Hoya to extend.
