Last year the Colorado Rockies won 21 of their last 22 games in route to reaching the World Series. It was one of the most amazing runs to end a season ever. I know it is unlikely but watch out for the Florida Marlins to try to repeat what the Rockies did last year. They can still help themselves out a lot too with two more against the Phils and three with the Mets.
After beating the Phillies tonight, the Marlins have won 9 in a row. They are only 5 back in the east and 4.5 in the wild card. The best part is how they are winning these games. They are averaging 8 runs a contest with 14 homers in those 9 games. This is is just another reason why the last week of the season will be so enjoyable.
Impressive stat: If their 3B Jorge Cantu hits one more Home Run, he will reach 30 for the season. That will make each starting member of the Marlins infield will have at least 30 Homers (Ramirez -32, Jacobs – 32, Uggla – 30).
