As we mentioned earlier there was a story circulating that Michael Beasley may have somehow been involved in the Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur incident from the rookie orientation.
Today, it is confirmed. Beasley was fined a whopping $50,000. The league said the reason for the inflated fine was due to Beasleys lack of cooperation in the investigation. It looks like there will be no suspension.
So, I gather that Beasley was definitely involved with the women and marijuana with Chalmers and Arthur. But Beasley ain’t no snitch! He isn’t cooperating with the NBA officials. In all fairness, no marijuana has ever been reported being found rather just the sent.
The NBA would likely have an easier time investigating what rookies DID NOT have women and/or drugs in there room that weekend. That is the real problem with the NBA’s investigation. The only reason this has come out is because the security at the hotel they were staying smelt marijuana coming from the vicinity of Chalmers and Arthur’s room and this the women were found.
Mike Beasley is a TROUBLE maker. Paxson made the right choice.
